The right and the wrong notes might be the same...

Post by fenson »

Following Miles Davis advice, there are not wrong notes eventually just misplaced ones...

Here is a great lesson on that subject: <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZ0BpKblgSE&t=21s>
You'd better watch the full video, but at least give an ear starting @ 5:16 to the end...

Hope this helps

Good link fenson.

Glad to hear him saying scales are pallets and what matters is the note choices.
I spent a long time playing scales before getting to the art of listening and making note choices.
Sadly I'm still not far down the road but it was great to at least be on that road.

Thanks - the solution is so simple, play the wrong notes at the right places!

I think I have to work more on chords... Bb7(#11) = ?
Can't believe I once programmed the scale and chord generator years ago. I was better in chord theory, then
So, back to school and more practise :music2:

@Gerd "I think I have to work more on chords..."

One great lesson on comp (the art of using chords in many different situations, so to speak...) by the great Greg Koch...
