Les Paul vs Strat for blues.

Post by Kaierlit »

i love the LP's warm tone because play jazz and rock but i mostly play blues which i also love on the LP but for example can i get like a SRV sound out of it? im worried that i wont be able to get that glassy blues tone which i love but i dont know if i should i get a strat only for that purpose because i hate the sound of it for anything else... that glassy single coil tone for jazz isnt really nice is it? I read here [link removed] a good article about blues guitars. with that said whats the best blues guitar LP or strat?
Thanks.

:welcome:

The tone is in his fingers, even with an epiphone riviera SRV sounds like SRV. On the other hand, it's nice to be able to switch to another setup without the need to adjust pedals and amps, so you can't have too many guitars...

The Les Paul is one guitar that I don't know too much about other than Jimmy Page and Zakk Wylde plays them. All I'm saying is that I haven't seen the Les Paul model used by the blues masters over the years. It didn't seem to be their blues instrument of choice although I know it's an all-time great guitar.

Hi Fenson! :D

Certainly a post for difficult to "80ra42" that's difficult to get your head around. :eye_rub:
