8bar loop : snappy

Post by HalfBlindLefty »

Trow in in a loop or copy it a couple of times in your DAW.
Let's hear what lead lines or riffs you come up with.

It's temting, HBL, to adopt your challenge. The contest and performance'd love to hang on. I'm trying to hang on but I think I can't make your loop fair. I try in my lonelynes to make a good lead. If I find it OK I uppload, othervice I put it down.

Edit; I'v tryed but this evning is not made for playing. I loos the grip over the loop to easy and my playing become crap.......... :wall: I don't have a singel tone in my head. It's blank..............NOTHING...... :motz: :motz:
I think I have to listen to the loop many times before I can get a tune in my head. Listen over and over again..............and think.................I'm lost without drums and bass. I loos the tempo and find my self playing wrong...............I go crazy over this.

MR, you're not alone. Although I sure can play some licks in A to it I think it's already too melodic riffing to add another guitar. Just sitting here with my axe not getting any useful notes. It's already complete.... :icon_whoknows:

I do hear some notes in my mind when listening to the track.
I can think of two options :
1 - complementing the riff playing / countering the riff
2 - long drawn lead lines, only using a couple of notes.

If nobody comes up with something I'll play some examples myself next weekend :) to tickle your musical imagination. ( There is no wrong, just experimental)

I'm having trouble with the timing - I'm getting out of sync after a few bars. I keep a shuffle in my head while trying to add notes or even just a bass line, but it's hard to add the spaces to stay in time... :icon_whoknows:

Mhh, it's not you, it's me who screws up in the track. :shy:
I got my fingers cluttered myself when trying to play what I thought would fit. :motz:
Sorry :wall:

So better forget about this one, it's no good !

No no, it sounds really great and cool riffin', it's only that I have trouble with the timing. Maybe I'm working too much with synthetic BT's...

Yeah HBL....really cool groove you have here, great as a stand alone riff......but has kind of a fluctuating tempo 12/8 thing going on.
