The Crapocaster

Post by VikingBlues »

Just in case any of you guys hadn't encountered these stylish guitars

I suppose if you manage a great performance on one of these guitars you'd have to feel flushed with success. :haha:

That's a great concept. Good to see a guitar with a nice sound made out of recycled material and cheapish wood from his local hardware store rather than from hundred plus year old rainforest wood.

crude (in more than one sense) - but it gets the job done.

A little space for puns - a huge space for double entendres.

Well, I'm not going to 'poohpooh' the idea. It's a wee bit crazy, but I reckon you might get some :yikes: :mercy: slippery runs on it. I'm sorry, I must go!!

:yikes: At least he didn't use the toilet bowl...
Shows again that the sound of an electric guitar is mainly made by the PU's, not the kind of wood.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with that, as a huge fan of the '59 Les Paul I don't think it would have had anything like it's legendary sound if it was made out of an old kitchen cabinet. I am all for reusing stuff and think it's great that people make guitars out of old stuff, like the guy here in England that makes guitars out of old plastic bottles shredded and compacted into a new material...But for me the true amazing guitar tone only comes out of a guitar if the wood contains the tears of the indigenous people who have lived beneath the tree in an endangered rainforest for several millennia.

I missed that one too Mike, so you're not alone - it was too subtle for me without the tags - a nice play on words (now I understand it  ).

We're getting a fine collection of puns on this thread - nice to see - I keep getting criticised by my sons for too many puns (very unfairly  ). I guess as far as missing the point of the PU's comment I could have dragged in some pun about "the penny has dropped" but that requires any readers of the post being old enough to remember a penny being used to get into a public toilet in the UK and also requires knowing that expression to mean 'understanding something'. Hmmm - I've just found how easy it is to spoil a joke by expaining it!

Yes - I'm amazed at the fluency that you and, for example, HBL have in English (as impressive as the skills in guitar playing). I spent many years at school learning how (not) to speak French (it was no use to me at all on a trip to France) - I wouldn't know a pun in a language other than English if it jumped up and bit me on the nose screaming "I'm a pun".
