I love Fenton Robinson's clean tone.

As a fan of clean tone I'll agree 100% that is a great clean tone.
There's a beautiful version of his of Stormy Monday on youTube I noticed. Must listen / watch more later.
One of the reasons I like this forum - people keep posting about guitarists I don't know about.

An improv a day keeps the demons at bay!

You MUST obtain a copy of "I hear Some Blues Downstairs" on the Alligator label. I had that record on vinyl as a teeanger in the 1970's. I first heard about about Fenton Robinson in the mid 70's on a local blues radio show that was (and is still) on every Sunday night on one of our non-commercial volunteer run University FM radio stations.

I too have a worn out vinyl copy of "I Hear Some Blues Downstairs". Still listen to it today...scratches and all! The album art is very cool as well...

The blues won't get you to heaven but it'll drop you at the front door.
