Blackheart Bitmo mods demo (transfered)
It's all in the name, I modded my Blackheart little Giant, using the Bitmo Triple bypass and G-verb,
and recorded a quick and dirty demo cycling through the different settings and through my strats neck and neck/middle pickup settings.
a topic about the modding process is here : http://12bar.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2992
http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8980066
from 0.00 to 0.48 sec its the Blackheart using the triple bypass tone circuit
from 0.48 to 1.37 its the tweed alike setting of the triple bypass.
from 1.37 to 2.24 its the more gain setting
from 2.24 to 3.08 its the Blackheart using the triple bypass tone circuit and a touch of (G) reverb
from 3.08 to end. its the tweed alike setting of the triple bypass and a touch of (G) reverb
the lead is recorded using the more gain setting and a little more (G) reverb
During playing I cycled through my strats neck and neck/ middle pickup settings
The demo is recorded using the Blackheart (I love it outside it's casing the Yamaha G100b speakers, a Shure px57, a behringer mixer and my computer
I will record a demo while driving the amp harder soon. I already found out that the amps reacts GREAT to the guitars volume button and the way you pich the strings

Hmmmmmm, so HBL, do you take orders in e-mail or private message?
I was born with an extra thumb in the middle of my palm, so no way building something like that is possible for me... neither is strumming.
this is more like me
Anyway, waiting for your new recording , the previous were cool.

Hi
You sound great !
I did this reverb mod to an already modded Epi Valve Junior and I'm getting a electronic distorted sound at the trailing end of the reverb.
That Belton sucks a lot of gain,,, was swapping resistor values for half a day , it helped some but I'm just not very happy with it.
I wish I had spent the money on a good pedal

Thanks, The amp sounds great exept for the reverb , I was .. and went back to running a Roland Micro cube in front of it for the reverb.
I may just pull the Roland boards and mount inside the Junior.
Do you hear any of the electronic fizzle or high distortion at the trailing end of your G-reverb ?
The fizzle isn't alot but the amp has great clear tone and that just bugged me.

I failed to mention that I also have a BH5H head.
Searching for Blackheart little Giant reverb is how I found this forum.
I didn't want to do the reverb mod to it unless I found someone else that had good results.

HalfBlindLefty,
Here is my Belton BTDR-1H Digital Reverb Module hookup in the Epiphone
I had to add my own filter caps to the volage regulator ( not pictured ) they didn't come in the kit

where did you hook up pin 4 in the Blackheart ?

Thanks so much for posting this info on the mods and your clip. Your clip sounds fantastic by the way, not just the tone but the playing, it's really tasty.
Can you upload a clip that focuses more on the G verb sounds? Can you turn up the reverb mix all the way at some points?
How dyou like the G verb sounds?
How hard is the G verb mod to do? I've done simple pedal mods before but am otherwise inexperienced.

Thanks a lot :)
Give me a little time
Love it, sounds great (for a digital reverb)
Easy, if you have some experience in soldering, no problem.

Ok
I recorded a quick one. I started with doing some rhythm stuff on 2 guitar tracks, then added the organ. Edited the bt and played along while turning the reverb mix pot.
- on the back of the amp... it distracts anyway, here it is.

And I forgot to listen to the reverb due to enjoying the music and the playing! Still that shows the reverb must work well - or that the "First Lady" in "someones" hands will just sound great whatever she's played through.
An improv a day keeps the demons at bay!

Re: Blackheart Bitmo mods demo (transfered)
Thanks VB, I have to admit I spend more time putting the backing tracks together than I should have :)
The lead is a one shot recording. I even forgot to keep my distance to the amp...... "First lady" is a awesome hum finder Her only flaw.
Yes, she sounds fantastic through any amp.... still Fender amps seem to fit best. When I switch around between the Blackheart and the Cybertwin, the Cybertwin wins big time, every time. In a way it does the tube sound better than many full tube amps I played
