Introduction

Post by MikeL »

Hi all,

I've been enjoying this forum for a few months so I guess it's time to introduce myself. I’ve been playing guitar for a few years (mostly strumming on an acoustic) and have more recently been trying to learn some blues. I have a lot of work ahead of me but I'm getting there slooowwwwly.

My electric rig is a G&L Legacy paired with a Fender Superchamp.

It's been a struggle trying to get the the tone I seek but it's coming along.

Thank you Gerd for providing this fantastic resource and also thanks to all the participants for making this forum a success. The diversity of nationalities participating is fantastic.

Cheers!
Mike

The Legacy is a killer guitar. It was a tossup between one of those and my Casino. (I chose the Casino because I already had an excellent Strat)

Hi MikeL, welcome to our group, looks like you know your way around already.
Good to have you here, great name btw!

I'm Strat-less at the moment and will be for some considerable time, but I have other to keep me company. Your's is fine looking though, be nice to hear some tones out of her. As for the tone..as one member here say's, "I was looking for that tone, now I found out there are lot of tones". It's an endless crusade.
I've been playing electric 3 years 3 months now but had an acoustic to learn basic chords for a few months before that so your not the only one with a lot to learn! Especially with some of the great players with years under their belts we have here on the forum. That guy above me for example.

:welcome: to the forum Mike.

Nice gear for learning blues you've got there.

Yes, learning blues is a long journey, but it's a road well travelled by the members here, and the forum is a great help to make that journey much easier to understand and even more enjoyable. Hope you have fun here.

Trying to get the right tone ..... hmmmm ....... :yikes: :wall:

Kia Ora Bro, cool looking guitar. I've got a mate with a G and L telecaster and he rates the brand. I love this forum, you'll learn heaps here.

Hi and :welcome: MikeL!
What a great choice of guitar.
Now you can make it your life's work to turn 'Orange County' into 'Blues County'.

It's really fantastic how many different nationalities are here sharing nothing (well, almost) but the Blues... :bb:

:welcome: Mikel, I am from Holland and this forum is my special window to the world. Never thought that is was possible to have so many friends around the world, without traveling. And jamming with you is been the best thing that is overcome me. I have more confidence a bout my playing after a couple of collabs.
Hope to get in some one with you someday.
