Sad news from Gerd

Post by HalfBlindLefty »

Hi all,

Today I got an Email from Gerd, telling he has no idea when he will be back on line.

Gerd was down with the flu for a while, when I got the message below : (partial quote)
Worst ever happened yesterday, my mother died suddenly
and unexpected. Don't know when
I'll be back. So much to do now.

Gerd I'm so sorry to hear this sad news, my sincerest condolences.
You know, if there is anything I can do......

I wish you and your family all the strength you need in these difficult times.

I USED to go by "Jim S" (in case you don't know who this is) but when the name "Jim" became available a year ago, I took it. I am back from a LONG time away - but the terrible news from Gerd, forwarded to me by my good friend Hans, has brought me back. I hope to be able to help out where I can, while Gerd takes the time he needs off, and stay active this time.... I'm still without a paying job, but playing more music, and trying to keep my mother from getting too depressed (a full time job in itself) from the loss of her husband (my father) about 2 1/2 years ago.

My thoughts and prayers are with Gerd and his family and thanks to Hans for staying in touch and keeping this special place running while Gerd is away.

My driving philosophy about making music is that you can reduce it all down to one note if that note is played with the right kind of sincerity.
