Cheap Sunglasses

Post by Bluez2move »

Hey all, Here's my latest project
a cover of ZZ Top's "Cheap Sunglasses"

The only BT I could find had vox on it
and I wanted 2 do my own vox, plus
I wanted 2 stretch out the end vamp
the way I alway's wish it had been :D

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10277208

So I kinda debut 2 new guitars
on here, the main rhythm Gtr is
my new Washburn WI26,

the guitar in the break doing
the whammy bends
is my MIM Strat w/the Floyd :D

And the guitar for the solo's is my
ES-335 copy, another new acquisition

I found a decent midi file and copped
the bass, drums, & keys from it and
built the BT from there. Enjoy

Nice indeed!!

What ES335 copy did you use? Gave good results whatever it was - the extended solo at the end works great.

And the general arrangement works very well too - you made yourself a real solid rhythm section to play against.

Very nice! The ES335 Robelli sounds really good !
How did you manage to get this "brown" tone, I mean is it a modeled amp thing
or just a miced amp?
Kudos!

The Carlo Robelli was a new name for me - having Googled I see it's a "Sam Ash" house brand, which I guess is some sort of store?

Whatever it is it looks very good and it sounds very good in your hands B2M. Am I right in thinking it's not got a huge price attached to it? If so it's great value too.

My impression from "Googling" is they don't make it across the water to the UK as a general rule.

Fantastic stuff B2M.

Wow, when I read the subject title in the upper right part of the 12bar main page I almost went straight to the admin - spam - killer module. Then I decided to take a good look first .... pffff Good thing I did :D

Yes it does have a nice sound,
it's a pawn shop prize I got
back in October

As for the sound that was a
Digitech GNX4 amp modelling
workstation. The sound on the
Robelli was a preset called
"EC CRSRD" , which is a Plexi
head in2 a matching cab w/a TS9
some chorus, delay and reverb

From what I know the company
has been making guitars in the US
since 1932,
They are low 2 mid price guitars
that are well made and have a
good sound
And what more can you ask

Yes Sam Ash is a large music
chain like Guitar Center here
in the US :D

Oh yeah! That was great! Sometimes it's slow blues but sometimes you just have to rock.

I love the way you put all the tracks together. It seemed very intricate to me. Excellent work.
