'Pleased to meet you...'
...hope you guessed my name. But what's puzzling you is the nature of my game".
Just joined this forum. Wanted to say hello. I'm old guy with more gear than talent.
I've had an appreciation for the blues since I was in my early teens. I'm always looking for ways to improve and this looks like the kind of place that can offer more than a few tips and tricks to playing blues guitar.
Let me buy the first round.

Re: Pleased to meet you...
Welcome DeaconBlues,
There seems to be a lot of us older guys here - plus a growing number of teenagers - and every age in between.
I personally like to think of my talent as "nascent talent" or "developing talent" or "emerging talent"....or some days even "slumbering talent".
But everyone here supports each other as we all work to become better blues players. Some folks here are startlingly good and folks like me learn a lot from them.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the company here.

DeaconBlues. Enjoy the forum - if you like blues you've found a great place to visit here.
Ahh - an old guy with more gear than talent - a common cry on here and it's a difficult balancing act to get right.
At least you had the sense to like blues from an early age - some of us were much slower on the uptake.

This is a great place, you'll enjoy it.

Deacon Blue.
You've come to the right place. Like you, I got turned on by the Blues as a teenager and been a devotee ever since!
I see the Playing part as a LIFE WORK. You never stop learning until your brain wears out and apparently, playing an instrument helps to keep that day at bay!!!!

"Big Bill Broonzy, a white boy's inspiration" (1963), and the Blues ever since.

DeaconBlue.... this is the place to be. One of the great things about this forum is that you can not "see" the person that you are talking to so you can imagine them at any age that you like and you don't have any preconceived opinions of what skills they may have. You will certainly improve your playing and Blues knowledge by hanging around this group.

For some reason I always picture you with your head way down in the sand A bit difficult though, to picture you doing a guitar customization jobGolfxzq wrote: DeaconBlue.... this is the place to be. During that refurbishment I felt like I had my head in the sand most of the time.

Re: Pleased to meet you...
What is this refurbishment you speak of? I dabble in guitar refurbishment and customization along with minor amp work.

Deacon Blues... A few months ago I found a LP copy at a garage sale for $20 (US). My grandson and I (Aggiefan) set out to make a playable guitar out of it. We love the outcome. It was the first project like this for us. Here is a link to the post "Les Paul Project Diary".

Too bad you weren't around when we were doing this, since you have done it before you could probably have helped us out a bit. We owe it all to the 12Bar community.... anything you want to know about guitars or paying the Blues is right here.
