Melting Blues collab

Post by 12bar »

OK, I'm in for an album collab, I already have a title  : melting Blues

Just listened to Michael Bloomfield - If You Love These Blues (great album btw.) and I thought of a number with a main theme played in different styles (i.e. 3 Kings or jazzy vs. Delta vs. slide). I don't want to use a ready made BT, so it would be nice to have a bass and some drums or drum machines...

Anyone?

For slide G maybe first choice - otherwise I always end up with E or A

This afternoon ( iam just reddy now) i recorded a take with my tiny drummachine (build in the Digitech amp modler on the floorboard) i syngronised it with the same speed as the example 65 bpm and take black betty and play a lick in G at he same speed. After that i take my slideguitar with extreme thick strings flatwound Used a taylormade RVS slide witch is very heavy, and playd tree rifs in the front in the middle and at the end. After that i make take 3 and played one short solo just after the slide lick. I post all three takes so every body can use what ever they like.
Succes Guy's i can't wait. :chicken:

Great! I took your BT and thought about a JLHooker style intro (not the final one)...

We should keep the tracks separate (at least on hard disk) so we can do the final mix when everything is finished. We've got lots of time!

Is it OK if I do the intro (JLH style) plus the first 12 bars in another style, then you "slide in" for the next 12 bars?

Next 12 bars are yours to slide :high5:

That's VERY nice 12bar!

I've heard you say "I wish I had more time to play". I wish you had too - always a pleasure to listen to your take on a piece. As usual you pick some very good notes and a great tone too.

That's the unmistakable John Lee Hooker sound alright; You even got his tone down! So on the collab is it just going to be an instrumental or will it have vocal?

Thanks, fellows! :shy:
This is a first attempt to fill the album (see viewtopic.php?f=11&t=283 ), currently it's ElMano and me. You can join, add vocals, guitar or whatever or start your own solo/collab by simply opening a thread in this sub-forum and keep us informed. We've got lots of time!
No vocals from me, I record using earphones while the kids are asleep. Oh, and I really can't sing.
