Just a little song
The Eastman was sleeping in its case for quite a long time...
Few days ago i did put my hands on that black fingerboard and the thrill back...
Another Jazz standard...
recording set up is:
Eastman Archtop - Ceriatone FM50 - Timeline delay + TCE "Hall Of Fame" verb.
DAW: Ardour mic: Sure and Blue Ribbon "Blue Bluebird" Focusrite USB audio interface.
Best wishes to you all, Happy new year!

Just a little gem!
The sound is very "live"-ish due to delay and verb, great!

Maybe, I'm a few days at home, BUT - these days I get my photovoltaic system on my house.
(After waiting for almost a year).
Something easy and short and I'll try!

Simple and short loop. Yet I've place a short chorus at the very ending loop...
Hope you'll enjoy

Not the easiest rhythm, but I'll give it a try

Re: Just a little song
I love that Eastman number fenson!!!
Great phrasing and the quality of tone is perfect.
Interesting sounding Swampy Thang too - intriguing!

Thanks for your Eastman appreciation BV ;-)
Swampy thing... Hit the wrong key by typing maybe a bit late to correct my own mistake but now done!
Played on a home made of "black locust" SG suited with a P90 (neck) and a piezzo system to replace the standard bridge pickup...
12/52 strings set, tuned in D, capo 2nd fret...
Still intrigued?

Re: Just a little song
I tried some slide on open D, but I can't get the right feeling for this - I'm still a slow Blues guy, sorry
Maybe VB can take over?

Re: Just a little song
No need to play fast even more if you do some open D slide...
Anyway, hope you'll have more fun with this one ;-)

Re: Just a little song
Having not recorded anything for more than a year (or two?) I decided to update my software. Turned out that audacity was sold and turned into spyware, although some things were later removed.
Anyway, I had an old Repaer version and thought an update would be a good idea, but it killed the license. Anyway, I did a roll back and started recording. As always, as soon as I hit the red button, I can't play anymore but here it is. Maybe I'll do a better version later...

About Audacity...
For the very beginning I'm posting here I claim Linux is the very best system... No license problems... no spyware... Even if you still need window for some reason I prefer to ignore, install AVLinux on an USB key, just to give it a try....
About Chic_01...
You did it, of course not your best guitar playing ever, but you did it, that's the point!
My very best suggestion: record yourself any time you play, even with your smartphone, the very best tool to get better...
My second very best suggestion: work every day, learn songs and play songs, don't noodle or shred your scales, just learn song and play song or learn a solo note for note, phrases by phrases... At the end you will certainly "CAN" play even when you wiil "HIT" the record button...
Waiting to listen to your next version!

Re: Just a little song
Nearly a month since I last wrote on this thread .... been very distracted with non guitar stuff I'm afraid.
But probably more of that later and elsewhere on the forum threads.
Sorry you had so much troubles with getting recording up and running again Gerd.
I hadn't heard that issue with Audacity - seems from various sources / tech articles I just read that it's maybe version 3.0.3 where the potential issue came in. I still run 2.3.2 but only use it occasionally for splitting big mp3 files or converting formats.
I did like that slower blues number you did Fenson and had been thinking for a while about having a go.
If I could remember how to play an electric!!!!
Afraid my attempt did get a bit ragged in the middle, and I've forgotten a fair chunk of the blues technique and method.
But this attempt is just from where my fingers went and where my head suggested they go.
Thanks for posting the BT - I enjoyed having a go.
Used the PRS SE single coil P90 (neck pickup) - fingers and no pick. Just a software amp simulation. A GB British amp which is based very much in Vox territory, plus a treble booster and a bit of compression. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface - which is very good for sounds but my PC needs a good few things disabled to avoid sound glitches - the 2i2 seems to need more processing power than the old basic Alesis.
The debut of my recording an electric guitar blues genre piece on Garageband on the iPad.
The Apple m4a file turned into an mp3 file with Audacity.
Hope it's not too awful.

Re: Just a little song
Hi folks,
sorry for the late reply, too busy the last weeks.
@Fenson:
Linux is great, I'm using it since the mid-90's on several servers at work and running Xubuntu on my old laptop. However, for work and home office I still need Windows, so it's installed on my home PC. Maybe when I retire I'll change
No time to even touch my guitars the last days, but I now plan to play more regularly and record another version. At least everything is running again.
@VB:
You remember quite well how to play AND how to get a good sound on electric!
