Interesting! I prefer the tonewood having a "fuller" sound. The scrapwood would make a good flamenco guitar.

the tonewood offers wider bass spectrum at least to my ears...
The scrapwood one sounds amazingly with back and sides made of oak, I would give it a try with a bottleneck for a Delta porch Blues...

I'll have to admit a bias straight away.
I don't really like the sound of steel string acoustic guitars with Spruce tops (particularly Sitka) - however high quality the guitar is.
Just something in the tonal quality that jars in my ears sadly - I say sadly because it has hugely restricted my guitar choice.

So I wasn't surprised that the scrapwood guitar had the edge for me. Still resonant but not so over-jangly.

Not for the first (or last time) I find myself out of step with the majority of acoustic guitar users! :icon_whoknows:
