See You In New Orleans Song and possible Collab

Post by tytlblues »

So I was in New Orleans on business a few years back. Found my way into a bar down on the French Quarter in New Orleans......well after midnight it was, Lucky to make last call, but the band.....ok, maybe a a trio or quartet, were playing their last tunes, not to many people left in the club. But, it was this swampy, smokey stomp blues....and it was wonderful! So I ended up making this simple backing and jamming to it. I can easily convert this to a collab if anyone is interested to have a go! :music2: :music2: :music2:

I'd be happy to have a go!

Wow - loved the way your guitar came in at 0:48!
Very soulful and emotional playing that matches the swampy backing perfectly.
A definite late night feel to the music.

I wish I could join in, that sounds great. Miriam and I are leaving today for a three week camping trip and I'll be offline for a while. I am taking my wooden resonator guitar with me, though.

Maybe I'll add some notes to the beginning up to 0:44 when your guitar takes over...

Great Tytl - thanks for posting those!

Sorry for the delay in response - heavy week at work and 34th wedding anniversary yesterday so not enough time for forums!

I'll try and get some time to start playing around with this backing track, but I can hear stuff in my head when I play it, so if I can translate that at all into actual guitar sounds I should enjoy this one.

I'll not rush it though!

Cheers :D

Played around with my zoom G1on pedal, got a bit too much reverb
But I like it somehow, so here it is:

And congrats for 34 years! Exactly same year I met my wife

Wowee - atmospheric playing there! There is a good deal of reverb, but it suits the mood I think.

You've done well to get on the case so quickly, and at that high level too. I've not even managed to play a note yet!

Sorry guys - I've been so rushed off my feet in every way in day to day life that guitar has not just taken a back seat, it's been left standing left behind at the roadside.

Finally had a chance to have a very rough try out. An initial attempt below, but by no means what I might end up with.
Thought I really should post something though after all these days! Hagstrom Viking Deluxe (and a Software Amp only due to limited time).

What software amp did you use?

 Evening All!
Now I've got computer problems - oh well!
Goes in on Monday to hopefully get fixed, but a possibility of hard disk issues and the possible resulting re-installation of everything. :wall:
I've been looking at possible replacement machines but then hit the Win10 and lack of Win7 possibilities. I suspect a lot of my software won't like Win10.
I know I don't very much - I (have to) use it at work.

Sorry - I'll get to your question now!
I'm not 100% sure on the software amp as I didn't save the project in the DAW.
I think it was a free VST amp I acquired some time back called FA3 Amp.
