Ramblin'

Post by 12bar »

Finally, I booked a flight to the capital of Blues - Chicago :bb:
May next year I'll visit the home of Chicago Blues and try to find some places from the BB movie.
I wasn't sure because of my current vestibular problems but then again - now or never...

Last night we had the annual Blues festival in Emden, it's a little bit on the decline. Only 7 bands instead of 10, some of them not real Blues bands. Most of the time I spent at Lefthand Freddie (no, not HBL  ). He plays a special fingerstyle, you'll find some gigs on YT:

Finally, I'm moving from audacity the Adobe Audition. I'm trying to record a little bit for my next paddle video and the midi support is much better
However, I didn't know about how the files worked and overwrote my first recording :wall:
But handling is fine, it's the old 3.0 version

Here's the result...

I had to use Audacity to capture my midi keyboard playing through Ignite, Audition won't let me record it. I used a free VST for a hammond sound, but I'm not happy with it. Melody is inspired by DP's child in time, but only the slow part.

About your Sweet Home journey, I'll be there the 6th next june for just couple days
Will you be still around?

Argh!!! Adobe is Evil!!!

About your video track, might you find the Electro-Harmonix B9 Organ Machine
an interesting pedal... https://youtu.be/98u-MDTKAWU (JL sound @7.38  )

Please welcome the following remarks about your left hand fingering, to much noise
when moving from one to another position :naughty:
Saying this just because already heard other tracks from your paddle vids where
your playing is much better. :D
Don't take it bad, I'm a real perfectionist and that's why so many people just
hate me

Yes, I know, but I thought I'll give it a second try.

I've looked for some guitar synth a while ago, but then I got myself a midi keyboard (had some keybord lessons when I was young).
Ignite has some great sounds, but does not support vst.

You are right, I've noticed it myself. I thought about a new take, but unfortunately I had already mixed the tracks and moved to Audacity.
I'm not a perfectionist, but I promise next time it will do it better.

The music for the video has mood and feel that fits, finger-noise or not! :D

Whenever I see these paddle videos I think the solitude and the lack of noise except for natural sound must be very restful for the mind.
Maybe not so restful for the body with all the paddling of course.

I enjoyed the playing of Lefthand Freddie - hadn't heard of him before. Thanks for the links.

Enjoy Chicago!

Yes they are, and a good training for my inner ear, although sometimes I get nearly panic when I have a vertigo attack.

Yes! It was really great to visit all the Blues Brothers locations and to ride the car.
More will follow.
Just back at home and work. A little jetlag...
