voodoo chile

Post by tradrrr »

After coming around and really liking Clapton and Winwoods version of Voodoo Chile, I wanted to learn the opening licks but couldn't find it online at the usual sites. Anyone else have that sequence? I'm trying to figure out if that beginning is all guitar or if there's bass in there. Anyone?

A bit late - can you specify a time range? I'll take a look...

I did a cover a while back of Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood's Voodoo Chile at MSG. Here's the link to the YouTube video. I learned this by ear off the Madison Square Garden DVD. I'm pretty sure you'll learn something from the video, it zoomed in by my neck. :handshake:

Hey, thanks drockadam.

12bar, I was trying to get the intro down the first 10-15 seconds. The Winwood/Clapton version intro sounds the same or very similiar to the Hendrix version.

Thanks!

Thank you very much! It took a lot of practicing to learn that song off the DVD.

Not much time... :icon_whoknows: some seconds, first try
Drop D-tuning (tune down the low E-string one step)
Play around D minor penta at the 10th fret.
