Spanish boy

Post by redrooster »

Hi folks, i'm a spanish boy (excuse me for my poor english). I'm 19 years old, and i play everyday the blues with my mex strat 50's (in red) through my VOX AD30VT. And sometimes I add my CryBaby GCB-95 :D. I don't know if there is here another spanish, but i have not seen anyone. Here in Spain the blues isn't a common musical style to play, and less in the people of my age (between my friends, i'm the only who plays it). I play everyday and very seriously, i'm in a academy called "jam session" that comes from the english academy Rock School. I want to be a professional musician, with or within' fame and money and all this things, but i want to play everyday till' i day and be more good everyday.

My favS are Eric, B.B., Beck, Hendrix, Robert Johnson and Buddy Guy. Apart the blues, i like a lot Dire Straits, Santana, Springsteen, Pink Floyd...

Well, this is all i've got to say right now, i hope i will help to continue makin' this blues forum the best of the world!

:welcome: to 12bar redrooster. The site should have someone from the country that won the world cup.

Liking the blues came a lot later to me than 19 years old - I wasted a lot of years - good thing you've picked up on it so early - gives you a good chance of getting really good. Nice to see the mention of Vox - another believer.

Glad you enjoy the site - it's a great place to spend time and to learn from such friendly, helpful guitarists.

:welcome: redrooster from Tennessee (USA). I think your English is very good... much better than my Spanish. Glad to have a younger player with so much passion for the blues in the forum. You will really enjoy it here.

Hola !! and Welcome Redrooster !!

You've found the best spot on the net !! and its good to have representation from Spain. ( Great World Cup win btw and best team of the tournament for me )

I go to Spain quite a bit as we have an apartment near Mojacar in Almeria .and we like Spain and Andalucia very much.

But as you say .....not a lot of Blues Music about.

Plenty of Sunshine / Tapas / Vino Tinto and San Miguel .and there are a couple of bars locally and in Carboneras that put out some OK music .......

Here's a bit of musical trivia ......
We very much like to walk along the Mojacar playa on a Sunday afternoon in the sumertime and listen to the live music coming from the various Chinguirito's(Beach bars ) .....our favorite is "Tito's" who feature an artsit called Robin ( or Clive) Sarstedt. He sings all the great 60/70's songs ....and songs that he released along with his two brothers ......Peter Starstedt ....."Where do you go to my Lovely" & "Frozen Orange juice" etc and his older brother, Richard ............ better known as Eden Kane "Well I ask you "
Robin's own offering to the charts was ........"My Resistance Is Low".

I bet not many people knew that !!..................( and they proably didn't need to either !! )

so there you go...........could be veryu useful in a Trivial Pursuit Quiz one day !!

Enough of all that !!!!....................Welcome to 12 bar !!

I'm not from Spain (far from it) but I am about your age (18) and though I just picked up the guitar (hace tres meses) I have some type of professional musician dream. I live in New Mexico, namely southern NM, where the main language really is Spanish, and there are no blues whatsoever, so I feel your pain. It was a friend from California (and my dad's love of EC) that got me playing the blues.

I speak a bit of Spanish, and maybe you can help me out here a bit: In any type of Spanish class you never really learn things like musical terms, or math terms, just things kind of out of the way, but important vocabulary. Would you mind helpin me out a bit with my languages? Se (no puedo encontrar el accento) decir guitarra, pero eso es todo que se. (In fact, I don't even know if that grammar was any good). Could you maybe post the some translations of words like maybe Notes (quarter, half, etc.), hammer-on, pull-off, vibrato (are these even words in Spanish?) things like that so maybe I could teach/learn guitar with Spanish speakers. That'd be really awesome.

Anyway, :welcome: to the forum, I'm a newbie myself, I hope you find it to be a rewarding place.
