I'd love to. How do you want to do this? Each player post a verse, then paste them together? That's how the Groaning collab went.

Sounds like a good plan, I'll post the verse timing sections a bit later today, so far we have nxsneil & blindboy, any others? We can do it a couple of ways as per Groaning collab is ok, but if you can also email me .wav or .mp3 of your individual solo parts it will make it easier for me to edit where necessary and master final version.

Sounds like fun! You can put me down as a maybe for the last slot- only because I'm not sure if I'm able to record (I've missed waaay too many collabs because of this!). My older brother has some equipment that I may be able to hook up to my computer. I guess even if it doesn't work, though, both of my brothers are equipped with non-windoze computers with mics built right in, and perhaps they'll exercise some of their giving spirits in letting me record a little bit on them. It's kind of early to be cranking out any blues here right now to test the equipment, but I'll report back later today. :guitarist:

I could have a go, never did these before... do I get the earlier solos before I add mine, or...? I assume not.

You can down load the .mp3 and record your solo into your allocated time slot as per above and then post into Blues Room, others will download and do the same. However could you all please email me ( nxsaunders@optusnet.com.au ) your individual solos in .wav or .mp3 without backing track and I will compile, master and load final version onto Blues Room.

I don't know how to use the bluesroom, too busy now with the small baby. Nor am I certain I got this in the right spot now... but this is what I got:
http://www.box.net/shared/ln6q8r9gfp
http://www.box.net/shared/ygn24haldk (with backingtrack)
http://www.box.net/shared/cj5zdm7lg4 (with backingtrack, only my part)

It's just the 20sec in there somewhere... :D

Let me know if I got it messed up... I'm new to these things.

Umm, I take it I have the second verse... when I load the song into audacity, the time markers don't coincide with the ones you posted. :icon_whoknows:
It may take me a while to post up a part, my guitarPort is not speaking to Audacity for some reason. :motz:

Have you selected guitarport as recording device under edit - preferences - devices?

I'm not sure (I',m not really computer savvy). It was working fine when we did the Groaning Collab, haven't used it since then. Now I get an "Error" message, saying I need to check the settings on my device or something. I get the bit rate and sampling settings lined up right, but it still isn't happy. I will keep fussing with it.

Added a version with just my 20s with backing track in my above post...

Squier "60s" Tele neck pickup -> Line 6 compressor -> Micro Cube (on Brit combo setting, low gain, some reverb) -> Zoom H4 -> Reaper.

Sorry I'm late- bit of a bad day yesterday. But my little brother said he would let me use his computer to record with, so I think I'm good to go! I'll probably do it in the next day or two.

nxsneil, are those time ranges you posted in bars? So two run-throughs for everybody?

(And thanks for the updated post count Gerd- I think you actually gave me a few extra, but no problems- it'll just confuse anybody who actually wants to take the time to go back and count every one of my posts!)

Here's the final allocations (previous timings were from my DAW which was a bit confusing) the following times are from the actual backing track
nxsneil - 0 to .55

blindboy - .56 to 1.43
'
leftyblues - 1.44 to 2.31

bluesinbflat - 2.32 to 3.19

weelie - 3.20 to 4.07

leftyslim 4.09 to 4.59

Again, please email me your solos in .mp3 or .wav with and without backing track and I will compile, master and post completed collaboration in Blues Room.

Alright..... I feel really stupid. I looked at the times that Neil posted at the beginning. I recorded mine too short when compared to the new times. I don't really feel like redoing another recording session nor do I have the time. I am wondering if maybe I could just take the spot at the beginning because my solo I recorded is perfect timing for the beginning. Let me know how you feel about this.

I may have to back out. :tears: :icon_whoknows: I have gigs (I call them gigs) sunday and monday nights, and lots of stuff to do during the day (plus change strings on my Casino), and I still haven't gotten my GuitarPort to be able to talk to my Audacity. This happened after a power outage (frequent here). Sunday and Monday are my weekend, after that I go back to work, which is eleven and a half hours a day counting my commute. It would be at least next Sunday before I could post anything, most likely. I won't get my feelings hurt if you give my slot to someone else.
