School Girl Blues

Post by ratfinkdan »

Been kind of quiet around here, lately! Been a while since I last posted anything, I kind of go in spurts. This is called School Girl Blues its loosely based on the blues classic Good Morning little School girl, played a godin lg sp90 guitar that I recently got in a trade, great guitar has a Lollar underwound p90 in the neck and a Duncan p90 in the bridge and they really work well togeather great tones, played through my boss gt100. I'm really happy with the guitar and I'm really happy with the 2 patches I made on the gt100 and used in this recording, I think they really sound like a real amp, Hope they do, its been a love/ hate relationship with the gt100! Anyway hope you like it! Dan

Hey Really nice Dan, great tone, and nice phrasing overall! How is the band going?

Thanks Tom, glad you like the tune! Well the band thing is going pretty slow, basicly pulled the plug on it, guys not showing up or really working on the tunes. The drummer and myself are talking about starting over with some different guys but we haven't really started looking yet. Have been hitting a local blues jam the past couple of months although I think this week may be the last week for the jam. Although the more I get out there and play the more confident I get in my playing and am realizing I can hang in there and hold my own, so it will happen, just taking its time. Dan

Good recording Dan, and good tones from the Godin!

I didn't realise Godin did a P90 job like this - wish I had done. Though a Lollar underwound p90 in the neck sounds like extra good news - I can appreciate how that would sound good as I'm wrestling (rather unsuccessfully) with trying to get a "hot" P90 neck pickup to sound right for me at the moment.

Oh - and does sound pretty amp like to me :D - I admire your persistance in wrestling with a Boss GT - they can give you great sounds, but the amount of time needed to learn how to use them and get those sounds easily can be pretty lengthy. :wall:
