Your question HBL - which version?
The second version has more variation in sounds and is I feel technically the better performance. But it's the first version that makes me feel that having a good cry could make me feel better! The emotion really pours out in that recording - that for me makes the first version extra special.
As I've mentioned on other threads though - I'd rather listen to an imperfect but highly emotive performance - that's just me - apparently aloof and unemotional but it's all a front ........ it's maybe not a good way to judge musical merit.
