Ever wanted to fold up your guitar...?
Saw this and thought it was cool
http://www.amazon.com/Voyage-Air-VAOM-1 ... 293&sr=1-7
The professional ones are probably decent quality, but expensive. There are cheaper models, but they're...well, cheap. I wouldn't be too confident that one of the cheaper ones actually be a good guitar.
Great idea, though

Looks Interesting Blackhorse.......dificult to tell how robust the whole thing is though .. having a headstock laid across the lower bout of the guitar would not make it particularly robust in a travel sense IMO .......anything heavy on top of it would be highly risky.
I think it depends on the reason you'd want such a thing.
Up till quite recently I travelled around Europe and the US a good bit ....on occasions I knew I'd have a bit of spare time I had a cracking Baby Talyor , Solid Sitka Spruce Top 3/4 size in a decent enough padded carry case .....which has been to Russia , Czech Republic , Greece, Hungary and Spain ...............Its still in perfect nick. For playing in a hotel room its more than fine and cost less than £150.00
I've also got an even cheaper Hofner Electric travel guitar .....£50.00 I think .......which is fine for practise and mucking about.
Neither would be good if you were a pro musician ......but then wouldn't a Pro be prepared to have a heavy duty Airline Guitar Case .and or insist it went carry on luggage ??
I don't travel that much these days ........anyone want to buy a Baby Taylor ??

I've seen the Voyage-Air in magazines, but never up close and personal. Strummer makes a good point about the possible headstock/damage issues.
Strummer, I used to own a Baby Taylor in mahogany with the SKB hard shell case. It was a great little blues guitar. Great for taking on a flight.

About the only time I want to fold my guitar is after a particularly frustrating practice session.
Then I want to fold it across my knee - not use a hinge.
But, of course, I would never actually mistreat a guitar.
I saw a review of these guitars some time ago in Acoustic Guitar magazine (I think). The author said that they held their tune after being folded. He was pretty impressed with them.

Strummer, it appears you aren't firing on all your cylinders.
