Relaxing Weekend?

Post by VikingBlues »

Anyone having one of those?

After I got water gushing out from inside the electric shower casing, and then escaping from the shower enclosure over the bathroom floor, and water coming out from part of the mains pipe in the central heating boiler cupboard I now have no water and no heating.

We have 24 hour 7 day a week cover through insurance, but the 24 hour seems to refer to the time it takes to get an engineer (plumber) to call.

:wall: :wall: ...... :mercy: .... :wall: :wall:

Woke up this morning, I got water all over my floor.
Yeah, when I woke up ..............................AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You lead an interesting life..... :yikes:

My life seems so boring in comparison.

Sorry for your troubles....

It's a case of  or

This morning the wait for the plumber starts - will we get the promised call out this morning? Exciting isn't it! Really just a minor inconvenieince but we seem to have hit a run of problems this year. :wall:

What makes it less fun is that due to eccentric plumbing of these flats, if we have to turn the water off for ours we also turn off two other flats water - we really should try to get our own stopcock, but that wouldn't help with this one as the water coming out from part of the mains pipe in the central heating boiler cupboard is before the pipes split for all the different flats. Doesn't help when you mess other peoples weekend up too.

Still - we'll keep smiling. .......maybe....

VB .....sounds like you are havin one on "them" days !!

Still at least you are able to deal with it all while you are at home , rather than having to take time off in the week to sit in and wait ( usualy all ruddy day ) for the varoius trades folk to arrive ....or not ...........as is usually the case !

For my part .I am just putting off starting a decorating job .............which I don't fancy in the slightest !!!

Off to the gym !! and then a strum or two this afternoon I hope .........unless the plumbing has other ideas !!

I empathise with you !!
Hope things pick up and you can round off the weekend with a nice dry noodle on the axe !

Might just be possible - 30 hours after the phone call the showers been capped and the water's back on - total time for the repair to be done = 5 minutes!

Still got to wait for the repair to be completed so that the shower works again but ..... Yippppeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

So, maybe the axe noodling will be possible tonight. :music2:

Did you read about the flood?
It happened long time ago, in a little country town, way back in North Berwick
It gushed out of the shower, it gushed both night and day
The people got worried, they began to cry,
'Lord have mercy, where can we go now?'
There were women and there was children, screaming and crying,
'Lord have mercy and a great disaster, who can we turn to now, but you?'
The great flood of
North Berwick, Scotland
:away:

I'll have a drink and toast that song tonight - one bourbon, one scotch and one beer would be right I guess.

...or something...

Anyway, terrible to hear!

My weekend was to start with Larry Graham funk concert, but, well it was canceled due to the ash clouds. So we went for a night-out drinking. Nice to meet the lads, but it wasn't as much fun as it might've been. Spending time with kid and wife for the rest of the weekend.

Did play a little today, this is one of the 2 tracks I played on my loop pedal... actually on my ES-339sque Epiphone Alleykat, inspired by the sweet tones of your Tokai (I mean I usually play Fenders, for me they just are easier to handle, but do love the Gibson tone)...
http://www.box.net/shared/jk7i74zoem (it's just as simple 12 bar track with some rockabilly flavour)

Larry Graham!? I haven't heard that name in a long time; He's from my neck of the woods - Oakland, CA. In the mid 1970s I used to listen to Graham Central Station all the time. Ah, memories...Where did all that time go? :eye_rub:

Sorry to hijack the thread....

There's some more good lyrics to add to those already on this thread. Shame about the concert - if you want funk, Larry Graham's a good bet.

Nice tone from the Alleykat weelie - and I know what you mean about the "Gibson" / "Fender" thing - people usually seem more comfortable with one of the two types. I think the fretboard radius, neck type, and preferred playing style may well have a lot to do with it. I played "Fender" type guitars for 35 years or so, but I've been more comfortable playing "Gibson" style, I'm a bit slow on the uptake I think! :mercy:
