Pushed myself tonight..

Post by StratLover2 »

So, I was playing Torrance tonight, and instead of going off and recording a song, I did something completely different. I looked up Youtube videos and started jamming to them.

I started off with "Missisippi Queen, Live at Filmore East 1974" to get my bluesy side going, then I went to "Gimme Shelter" to practice my Rolling Stone side, then I went to a live version of "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath, which I found out was tuned half a step down, and I had to shift a fret down (or up, not sure which), then I did another version that was in regular tuning.

Finally I finished with "I Don't Want to Stop", which was simply exhausting, as Zakk Wylde is a very techinical player, and he is very fast. I am convinced that I did alright, only because my hands were just barely warmed up enough to play at that blinding fast speed.

Well, that was tonight, and it was awfully good as far as musical development went.
