Sitting in on a friends gig

Post by Blindboy »

Some friends invited me to sit in on thier gig in Albuquerque last night. They are a pair of very talented musicians and songwriters. On the left is Lisa, who playes cello and guitar, on the right is Becca, who plays guitar and flute. They both sing beautifully.

As my Casino needs strings, and Golfxzq posted such a nice picture of CoCo, I was inspired to take my Ibanez. Turned out to be a great choice. The jazzy tone and excellent playability were a good match for the music they were doing.

Sorry about the poor pic quality; the lighting in the wine bar was not the best.

PS... Thanks Gerd.

That's one great social music life you lead BB.

Nice to give all your guitars a good night out. Good looking guitar as far as the light lets us see - we just need to imagine the sounds to match.

It's hard not to be envious , well at least somewhat in awe of your lifestyle Bb
Plenty of woods ,Nature and peace and quiet surround you, Miles from shops ( that on its own is heaven) , but local bars aND Wine Bars abound, almost eveyone seems to play something, Parties and gatherings are almost de riguer, foxy ladies invite you to come gig with them at the local wine bar.

If you awoke from a deep sleep and found yourself in such a place .you'd imagine you had popped off and gone to heaven.

Sounds a bit like utopia to me .Good luck on you

Not so local, I drove 75 miles one way to play two songs. (and had a hundred dollar tab :yikes: ) My wife and I don't get that many nights out on the town, though, so it was worth it.

The following night I had the FrankenStrat out at the local bar for open Mic. Kind of nice to play something besides the Casino (great as it is). I have actually posted a song with the Ibanez here I think it was called 'Swing Set". In the pic above, we are doing a rendition of "Mystery", posted a little while back, but a much better version. Becca and Lisa want me to play on their upcoming CD. Perhaps I can make some of it available here if it happens.
