Playing bass with a choir

Post by Kalle »

Hi Guys
I have also joined a local choir with members from a retirement organisation ( 65 and older).
But I must say that I am feeling a young compared to most members in that organisation.
The choir leader asked me if I played any instruments and I said Guitar and Bass , so I am now the official "bass player" in that choir, another guy plays acoustic guitar and the leader plays piano (of course).
The choir is mostly singing swedish popular songs from the 40:ties - to early 60:ies
I.e. swedish versions of Hello Dolly, On the street where you live (i dina kvarter), Heart (Låt hjärtat va me), When I am Sixtyfour and some swedish songs by Lasse Dahlkvist and Yngve Stoor.
Completely different music to what I normally play, but its anyhow fun to play together with other people.
The Choir had a performance last week on a Christmas lunch for the retirement organisation and it went well.
