It could have been bad...

Post by Blindboy »

Well, Saturday night, we played at the restaurant and had a large number of guest artists and audience. (It's a holiday weekend) Some friends of mine from Albuquerque were playing at the bar across the street (where we used to play) so I went over to watch them. They were a killer three piece and sounded awesome! I was invited to sit in... it was the first time I have played at this bar in years, since we parted ways on a bad note. I got up with my little modded fender amp and my Casino and played a few songs, having a great time. I set my Casino down (carefully, I have busted a guitar on this stage before) and as I hopped off of the stage, my foot caught on the cord and yanked my guitar off of the stage. :yikes: It's about a four foot drop and I was unable to catch it before it hit the ground. I picked it up and checked it over and it seemed all right so I put it back up on the stage by my amp. Later, when they invited me back up for a couple more songs, the dang thing was still in tune! :phew: No damage, thank goodness, except a volume knob fell off. They found it and saved it for me.

:phew: indeed. You had more luck than I - I damaged my car while driving backwards. Looked into the mirror to stay away from a brick wall, didn't notice a wooden bar on the other side. Damn, need a new fender. Not Fender...

A near thing Blindboy, but so easy to do even when being careful. Not the type of guitar you want to have throwing itself off a stage - OK for something like a Tele maybe which would just damage the floor. Must have been a relief to find all was well.

Bad news about the car Gerd - another thing that is so easily done.

Yes. You are right. The outcome could have been worse, but it was not. Is not it weird how people think. We, including me, think first and foremost for the worst. I think for the worst so much that I'm slightly paranoid. God I'm Doomed.
