The big jam report

Post by StratLover2 »

Hi all!

So last friday's jam was a total success, and our drummer was incredible! He had only been playing the drums for ten days, never had drummed in his life (performing) before that day. And the amazing thing was, he drummed on all of our songs on the set list:

Badge
Summer Song
Friends in Low Places
Amazing Grace
Lord I Lift Your Name on High
Bell Bottom Blues
La Grange
Johnny B. Goode
Ode to Joy
Viva La Vida

And with few minor technical issues (turned out to be operator error!), my new Line 6 M13, worked marvelously. To be honest, the only song I was nervous about was Johnny B. Goode, due to the fact that I had been working on the intro lead in all week, and that this would be the first time playing the song in full, with a drum, and hoping that I would not mess it up and that it would honor Chuck Berry. I was pretty surprised at what came out when I hit on the double stops in the famous introduction and before I knew it, I was joining back into the rhythm, feeling relieved. I didn't get lost too many times, but I was able to keep up and do some pretty awesome solos..
