New recording - opinions pls

Post by nxsneil »

Have been working on some new recordings to freshen up our website, we're getting a fair bit of work with venues wanting more classic rock content at our Gigs so have added extra sets to accomodate. (Warning - this is not a Blues song .. :yikes: ) This a recording we did on my Boss BR-1600, I was also able to test out my new Roland GR-55 Guitar Synth for the Trumpet Section in the Bridge..... I know this won't be to everyones taste... but I like to do some hard rocking #'s every now and again so please bear with me  Comments on recording technique, sound, song etc would be appreciated. You can check out the song Longline on http://soundclick.com/DeltaExpress Thanks. ps (Will upload some more Blues tracks soon!) :oldie:

That's quite some straight rock!
From what my tiny PC speakers could tell, it sounds perfect... in every way.

Solid band, fits together well and good tracks generally on Soundclick. Great vocals. Liked the ones with sax ... do you do any Mayall covers?

I just listened to "Worried Life Blues". Good tune and you do a good job on it. I really liked the slapback echo effect you used on the drums too. It gives it a pretty authentic 1950's Chicago sound.

Thanks for sharing!

Very tight playing. Good hook!

Though a bit like 12bar I have to imagine what it would sound like on proper speakers.

The Roland GR-55 is a good piece of gear so I'm not surprised that it's worked as well as it has here.

Oh .... Soundclick's just skipped on to "Worried Life Blues" - I agree with Bluesfreek - very authemtic sounding and most enjoyable.

And it's skipped again - that's quite a variety of well played styles that Delta Express play - nice REM cover.
