I picked up this cheap ES-335 copy a couple of weeks ago and after doing a few minor repairs on it I recorded this little ditty while testing out the guitar.

It doesn't sound like a cheap copy - but that could be a lot to do with the player! :thumbsup:

Nice tone - nice note choices. :clap:

Sounds good! Nice playing too. :thumbsup:
That's a Jay Turser, isn't it? My brother had a JT strat that was pretty all right. Only cost about a hundred dollars. They seem very nice for the money.

Hi folks;

Indeed it is a Jay Turser guitar but I have no idea what model. I also have a JT Les Paul Studio copy as well. I got this ES-335 copy used for $75 but it needed new tuners and the the body at the input jack had been damaged making the jack loose. I had a set of new tuners sitting here for such an occasion and I did a cheap repair to the input jack plus I needed to hammer down a couple of frets. I put on a set of Ernie Ball custom .011-.054 gauge strings and played it through a real tiny practice amp for the video. It's a playable guitar but it certainly isn't anything like a Gibson or even an Epiphone. One thing that is cool is that it has a lively acoustic sound when not plugged in. I imagine if it had better pickups it would sound a lot better.

Thanks for watching!

Those semi-hollows are great :big_smile: (I'm a 335 fan) ... the tone around 1:50 would make a Gibson proud! Great playing! :clap:

Nothing wrong with that tone at all. Great playing as well. :thumbsup:

I've been thinking of picking up a Jay Turser copy, myself, but nobody seems to be making one. :rofl:
