An original from Becca and Blindboy
Becca and I haven't played together in several months, but she came down and sat in with us last Monday. We did a duet set, and this is from that. This is one of ours... I made up the chord progression and the feel, she wrote lyrics and made it into a song. I really enjoy playing this one.

OK - you're messing with me now - aren't cha'.
First we get some slide playing from you and the TRBB - sounds great! Sounds like Los Ojos. Sound like what I've come to expect.
Then immediately you send us a piece with Blues/Jazz/Singer-Songwriter/Chanteuse/Cocktail - with just a hint of Gypsy Jazz.
It was fabulous! But where did that come from? I loved it but my mind is being stretched to encompass a new definition of Blind Boy.
What's next? How about some Klezmer?
I think you've found the sweet spot for you and Becca.

Oh - I love this sort of stuff. Especially when sung by an angel and with guitar played with such a sure touch and style.
I'm not surprised at the quality of Blindboy in another style - he who showed me what could be done with a BossaNova what seems like a lonnnnnnng time ago.
Beautiful.

Thanks Fellers, glad you liked it.
Becca was bitterly disappointed with her performance that night... She will probably be furious with me for posting this.
@VB... That bossa thing was fun, wasn't it?
@MojoJim... Actually it is two jazz cliches jammed together... a II-V-I progression and a circle of fifths (kind of...) I made it up a few years ago as a jam piece and Becca liked it enough to write lyrics for it and make it an actual song.
And, yes, I like klezmer... I just can't play it.

Thanks, y'all.
She holds herself to a very high standard. Fortunately she doesn't hold me to that same high standard.
She'll be all right. We are going to practice a bit and open the TWBB show on the fourth of July at the bar.

She meets and exceeds those standards, as far as I'm concerned. Nice to know that you two will be opening for the 4th.Blindboy wrote:She holds herself to a very high standard.

Great tune, BB. Tell Becka not to be so hard on herself, she is great. I wish we could all be there on the 4th, I bet that is going to be a blast (pun intended). Be sure to have someone record a bit of video, we would all like seeing and hearing you guys.
