I play some ukulele, besides guitar. Only have one acoustic guitar, the travel acoustic Martin LXME. The strings on it needed changing.
Up on another board some beginner was asking if a Little Martin could take lighter strings, like 10s, as the factory mediums are too heavy. Well I replied that sure, but it only start ringing good when you have the mediums.
Anyway, this got me thinking, and I took the D'Addario 095-044 electri strings I had taken off an electric guitar a week ago (to put a 10-52 set instead), and put them on the 23" scale Little Martin. And tuned 5 frets up, to A. So it's like an ukulele tuning, in a way.
So this is what it sounded like this morning:

Re: My "ukulele guitar" Little Martin
A very happy little ditty, I wish I could play that sort of stuff but don't seem to get around to doing it.
Guitar sounded nice, probably a lot nicer live than on recordings too.

I don't know if it sounds any good, but I like it. Will most likley eventually get mediums on it again, and tune to standard, but we'll see.
Here's another little ditty I recorded: http://www.box.net/shared/2oplru4b7u
(this time I added some volume boost a bit, to make it sound a bit better, also now boosted the volume on the first track above)
