Prepping for - Down and out
After hearing this song again in Flavium's (Dutch band) version I decided to build the whole track myself.
OMG, why did I choose to do so MY rhythm playing isn't to good, but it should be a nice mini step forward.
Today I recorded some guitar stuf and after listening thought I would let you guy's hear what I'm up to right now.
It's quick and dirty....

BTW: this time First lady joins her new friend in a song

Re: Prepping for - Down and out
Lovely singing quality to the lead guitar, nice combination of tones from the two guitars. I like the arrangement too - very musical.
It's terrible how rusty rhythm playing gets when concentrating on lead improvs all the time - it'll probably snap into shape soon enough though!
Look forward to this one becoming a completed project.

Glad to hear your music again, it sounds quite top.
What gives the Cyber Twin still a nice sound.
At least I assume that the noise of Cyber Twin rid?

Yes a lovely sweet quality to this track, nothing wrong with your rhythm playing, better than me anyway.
I too look forward to hearing the completed version of this.

Thanks guys.
Yesterday I gave the Epi dot it's turn for a rhythm part. She just could be taking the Fenders place in rhythm.
For some reason I feel more comfortable playing chords on the Epi. I guess it's the neck width and shape.
I'l be updating with a sample soon

Know what you mean - I prefer my semi-acoustics to the solid body guitars for rhythm playing.HalfBlindLefty wrote:Yesterday I gave the Epi dot it's turn for a rhythm part. She just could be taking the Fenders place in rhythm.

Ok, I sat down for a while and mixed the Epi into the sample track.
It's the one with the Darker voice and the prominent tremolo active.
Tried a Tokai track with the same Tremolo, but that didn't work at all.

Sounding excellent so far, rhythm is fine for me on both versions, can't decide which one I prefer. And the lead is sweeeet as usual

Thanks guys.
you know what springs to mind whole day........ Just play the the full song with only the rhythm guitars, no drums, no bass, no piano etc.
To try and keep the song small and intimate.
What do you think?

Beautiful - I do think the epi has really brought something extra to the party. And the lead playing is just exquisite.
To keep the song small and intimate you need outstanding playing for it to work - you have that and the some - so it's a great idea. Less will sound much more than more on the evidence of this upload.

Re: Prepping for - Down and out
I think it's a great idea that can produce a more passionate song than full band going. That is exactly what I was aiming at with my song "I Need You", as it was done as a gift to my beloved I wanted that same intimate feel of me just playing the song to her. Not trying to sound pompous or say I did it well...but that's what I was going for.HalfBlindLefty wrote:Thanks guys.

Beautiful! Thats quite different from the way I learned it (from my Dad).If I were to PM you a version of it the way I lernt it, would you play along with it and shoot it back,so I can listen and get a few ideas? I would play and sing it,but I can't wrap my brain around a lead part for it. (I do it a kind of fingerstyle version that I adapted from the version that my Dad showed me.)
