When Blindboy is away...
the other cats still have to play.
Occasionally, folks have commitments that take them away from our little jam circle. Since Blindboy is the lead guitar player, in his absence by default that duty falls on me. I get nervous just thinking about it, usually.
Anyway, since Bb has been posting some of our stuff, here's a * (WARNING!!!- harmonica heavy) * clip from a few weeks ago when Bb was away.

You sound right at home with the duties Db.
Usually for me harmonica takes a back seat to guitar so was nice to hear something where it does most of the lead work.

Thanks, Mike. Keep in mind this is an open mic. The band backs up a "guest" usually. My policy is to let the guest be in the spotlight.
As you can tell, there were many places we could have ended this jam. With harmonica players you just have to let them run out wind.

Not surprised you get nervous - big blues shoes to fill - but you've done just that and done it very well indeed.DeaconBlues wrote:Since Blindboy is the lead guitar player, in his absence by default that duty falls on me. I get nervous just thinking about it, usually.
All sounds very assured and very musical. Proving yet again the Train Wreck Blues Band is made up of several fine musicians.

Thanks for the kind words, 12 bar.
I'm sure the reason for the abrupt start is the fact that a major train wreck occurred in the beginning and it was edited out by Mike the bass player/sound engineer/recording engineer/magician/jack of all trades/etc.
