This was recorded last weekend... The night after I shot a nail through my finger . One of our regular jammers/local musicians came up with this progression and it is a blast to play. (timing is a bit tricky... I just do it by feel )
We have done this tune a couple of times, but it comes out very different each time. I am very relieved that I can even play, (was VERY freaked out by my nail gun misadventure) so I am playing with some passion. The finger injury doesn't hamper me as much as the painkillers http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10339970
(Edit) Jim is playing a Pimentel acoustic w/piezo through the PA, I am on my Casino, through the '64 Super, at only slightly irresponsible volume.

Very much my kind of blues, moody with some nice fiery licks. The unusual format must take some getting used to as well.
Good to see your mishap hasn't affected your playing and has inspired you.

The gentleman playing acoustic/author of that tune is a very talented song writer and a very knowledgeable guitar player. We are blessed with many talented artists/individuals in our local area. The natural beauty of the area seems to attract those with an artistic sense.

Gotta love that Casino's tone, even when you've got a crocked finger.
Mean, and as Lynyrd said, moody with fiery licks. Great note choices going on here. You're really channeling blues from the soul these days.

I am real pleased with the tone I have been getting. The ultimate tone is a never ending quest, but I like where I am now.VikingBlues wrote:Gotta love that Casino's tone, even when you've got a crocked finger.

So I went into my garage and hammered a nail through my fingers in order to improve my playing...
Absolutely great mood there, rural, intense Blues.
