HBL

So breakfast is finished with a backdrop of HBL unmistakable sound of "Silent Night". Outside a white wonderland, what a man wants more.

We wish HBL and family and of course all board members a great Christmas.

For 2011, "Make a Better World".

greet

A merry Christmas to all of you - I couldn't say it better than HBL's guitar :xmas_1:

I'm not much online these days - my kids keep the 12bar Santa busy.
I still don't even have a Xmas tree... :icon_whoknows:

:xmas_1: A very Merry Christmas to all 12 barers from an arctic West Midlands and a Happy New Year (with lots of Blues).
Many thanks to Gerd for a superb site for young and old(sob!) fans of the Blues. :oldie: :xmas_1:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all members of 12bar from the warmth of Texas!!!

I'ts just about one year since I joined 12bar and it's been a wonderful one.

What I really appreciate about this community is that whatever question is asked or whatever topic is opened there are members with great knowledge and skill that are willing to share their expertise.

* If it's playing then there are highly skilled players who teach both by example/demonstration and by explanation.
* If it's music theory we have members who can offer detailed explanations. (Is there any such thing as a non-detailed
theory explanation?)
* If it's guitars and gear then we have many members with years of experience who are willing to share and recommend.
* If it's computers and sofware we have a growing number of members who can explain.
* If it's Blues history, culture, lore, bands, players, current events, etc. there are always people with knowledge.

We have masters who play beautifully and we have beginners (like me) who gain the skill and courage to post their music - and receive encouragement and support. We've got older folks (many, apparently) and teenagers - all sharing on an equal footing.

And if I'm not ready for the answer the first time around, I know I can go back later and study. I do that a lot. It's a treasure trove of information.

But at its most basic it's a bunch of people who take great pleasure in playing the Blues.

Special thanks to Gerd who created the site and to Hans who helps run the site. You guys put in a lot of time - but the important thing is that you keep the tone correct and make the site what it is.

12bar is a community where people give to each other, share with each other and support each other. If that's not the spirit of the holidays I don't know what is.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, :xmas_1:   :oldie:

Absoutely right - I know my life would be considerably diminished without 12bar. It has a genuinely friendly ambience that no other guitar forum can match - it's a pleasure to be allowed here among such a wonderful bunch of blues-lovers.
