Mannish Boy Blues collab anyone?

Post by 12bar »

OK, after phrygian, mixolydian, major and minor  here's a no-brainer: Manish Boy Blues. There's a BT from L. Fritts, I've attached it.

It stays in the I all over the song in the key of E, so even I should be able to add a few notes somewhere from the pentatonic that fit...

Anyone?

I'd like to take the first 12 bars
Lot's of time for those with kids  and work - no deadline, join when you have the time.

:music1:

It's 4:30, if we use 12 bars per player we get 45 seconds.

I'd love to join in on this one 12bar - that's a BT I could listen to a lot just on its own.

Isn't mixolydian what rabbits suffer from?

Mannish Boy... I am in. Even if I have to use my four track instead of the guitarport. :chicken:

if you have an open spot I'll take it, but if someone else wants in ahead of me that's fine, too. Its a fine manly rhythm, but not that much in my style.

Oops - I'd forgotten about this thread 12bar. If it's OK I'll get along with doing 45 seconds to 1:30, assuming I have no more domestic problems for a day or two. :D

We're presumably looking for 6 players to fill the piece - 12bar, Viking, Blindboy, Cruisemates so far?

OK, I got my software working.
How do we do this? Do I send you my track, do I post it here? With or without the BT?
I'm confused.

I could take the 2nd to last spot.

I'd love to play my muddy sounding "Gibson" on this though I guess I hafta play the "Telecaster" for a Muddy sound.

I'm losing the place! :oldie:

I thought I had done a post on the thread with an attachment of my segment of the Mannish Boy this morning, but as I can't see it there now I'm guessing I forgot to submit it. :wall:

Possibly just as well as I was starting to wonder if I couldn't do better. Now where did I put my guitar???? :alright:

Ok, here's mine. I am not too happy with it, but I don't have much time to fuss with it. :wall:
I should have more time for messing with the recording stuff after Mayday.

And here's mine (assuming I remember to hit the submit buton!).

Giving "Shiraz" (the wine red Tokai) the day off to recover from the Phrygian excesses. So it's a rare outing for the Hagstrom Viking Deluxe.

Hope it'll do - one day I'll record a segment for a collab I'm happy with ..... maybe. I've cut the piece from about 00:41 to 01.33.

Here is mine - not real proud of it but it will do... Of course it is stereo with the solo on one side for synching purposes.

Both are good Cruisemates but if I had to choose I think I'd go with Jondo on this and say the second take works better for me. I think it would stick in the mind quicker than the first - something about it's structure maybe - dunno really, just my gut reaction. :icon_whoknows:

Here's mine. Timing is a bit off, I guess, but it'll have to do.

On my Epi Alleykat, neck pickup. Microcube on "Brit Combo", low gain and low treble, a bit of reverb.
