I Need My Bed Blues

Absent for some time, and finally got around to noodling some acoustic blues.

Very free form, but hopefully blues feel.

In DADGAD (influenced by Rob MacKillop DADGAD Blues book), which feels like standard tuning for me now!

:music1: Hope it's OK.

Plus a semi improvised piece based around the chord progressions and general notes of a Pierre Bensusan piece Solilai - though little like it overall.

Soleil Noir Levant.mp3 - (3.24 MiB)

Cheers!

The first one sounds a bit like a John Lee Hooker born in Scotland...

The second one is very atmospheric. Walking through the highlands, something like that.

And yes, that tuning it definitely yours. :music1:

Cheers! Glad you liked it.
Very happy to see any sort of reference to John Lee Hooker made about a piece I played - my favourite of the blues guys of that era.
I guess his minimalism appeals to me as I'm fond of that too.

Funny - part of the reason for having 4 acoustic guitars was to have them all in different tunings.
But it's just ended up with one in standard and three in DADGAD.

I just wish i could find more time for meaningful playing instead of just an occasional rushed 10-15 minutes now and then.

Oh, yes. I thought I have more free time when getting older, but the opposite happens. A few weeks ago I started a very short noodling for one of my videos, but didn't even finish that...

But - still alive and playing

You're right - we need to be thankful for that.
Looking at things in a positive way .... a good idea.
