A buddy of mine buys and sells guitars. Tonight he came up to see the Trainwreck Blues Band and brought one of his samples for me to play. It was a 1969 Gibson ES-340, a variation of the 335, which had had the wiring returned to the 335 specs. I fell in love! Unfortunately, I can't justify 2400 dollars for yet another guitar.
Here is our cover of the old Kenny Burrell jazz classic...

I really enjoyed playing this guitar. Wish I could afford it, but I do have some cool guitars already.

You can't have too many guitars...
Excellent jazzy playing, as if the guitar is build for this. Your fingerstyle is getting better and better...

Shame about the price tag - it sounds very well suited to your playing. Classic tune played so very well!
That's a danger of trying out guitars you can't afford - I've always been too scared to do that. But you're taking it all very sensibly ... something I'd struggle to do.

Re: 1969 Gibson ES-340
Well, guys, I just couldn't get that Gibson out of my head. I can't justify spending the money on it, but I do have some valuable vintage gear gathering dust around the house... I called up my buddy and offered him my 1964 Fender Super Reverb amp (my best sounding amp, but too heavy to carry to gigs anymore ), which is worth about two thousand dollars and this guitar...
I am now waiting for my friend to talk to his business partner and get back to me. Hopefully, soon I will be the proud new owner of another vintage Gibson. (it would be my third)
It's a 1932 Recording King, made by Stromburg and sold under the Kaykraft brand. Not sure how much it is worth. Very cool guitar... great for fingerstyle and bright and loud. Nice sound. One doesn't see that many archtop guitars with a round soundhole.I am now waiting for my friend to talk to his business partner and get back to me. Hopefully, soon I will be the proud new owner of another vintage Gibson. (it would be my third)
