One more from Moday

Another cover, SRV this time... We try to do it our way. This is one of the fairly few that I use a pick on.
This tune contains an example of the old trick of repeating a mistake to try to sound like you meant it. At about 4:05 (where we usually end the song) I thought we were ending and did an ending type lick. Unfortunately the guys didn't want to stop, so I had to smooth over my gaffe. Sometimes just repeating the mistake and working it into the groove works. :phew:

Ok, that's all the TWBB vids I have for now. Hopefully I can get some kind of computer interface going sometime soon and try some studio stuff.

Very tight and together arrangement - definitely way past the work in progress stage I think.

The arrangement works very well and I enjoyed the listen / watch.
I'm impressed with the way you can play so well with both fingers and with pick - useful to be able to wield the pick with skill as some numbers just seem to need that extra sharpness in attack.

Nice recovery work by the way. That trick of repeating a mistake and working it into the piece is a very useful tool in the armoury.

Hope you can get that interface working! :fingerscrossed:

I enjoy the live recordings a lot! You've got a great sound and needless to say, your playing is superb.
I didn't notice the "mistake" until I've read your post!

VB, the whole "pick vs fingers" thing has been an adventure for me. I have always played the acoustic with fingers and electric with a pick, approaching them as two different instruments. A couple of years ago (in my quest for a "sound" of my own  ) I switched to the Casino and played with my fingers exclusively for over a year. Now, I am fairly comfortable with both. As you say, some songs seem to work better one way or the other.
Thanks, Gerd. I have to give 12bar a lot of credit for my playing today. You guys got me playing again and kept me going through my musical dry spell until I could get the TWBB together.

You guys are a really great band - it's such a pleasure to watch and listen. It's a shame that the audience doesn't respond more...

I was horrified at the last gig where I went to see music - one where entry was with tickets that weren't that cheap. Most of the audience seemed more intent on yakking to each other at the tops of their voices than in listening to the music. I've felt this has been a trend that's been on the increase for some time. It made the whole experience for me very aggravating and has put me off going to anything musical since.
Maybe all these people are so busy on their i-this's and i-thats all day and not talking that they then feel the need to make up for lost time. Whatever the reason - I hate it.
