Sometimes an improv lets the players feelings be known.

I don't like Sundays.
Anyone know what a chord with (low to high) A, F, Bb, A, D is. Closest I seem to be able to get is Bmaj7/A. It's at the heart of the piece whatever it is.

Indeed it sounds very interesting, dark and sad.

Thanks guys - I feel I've bonded with a guitar when it speaks my feelings like this.
Nae bad for a £230 guitar (310 euros / $350).
I seem to have stumbled on D Phrygian with the notes in that "unusual" chord. Makes sense as it's a favourite mode of mine.

I think I will sink into Friday night with this VB!!....Love that opening chord series...this has a very ethnic sound to it! AS usual, your melodic choices are superb!! Just enjoying the beautiful sounds! just heard those harmonics at 2:50 is, very well timed!

Thank you Tytl.
I find a lot of internal calm in just exploring open tunings and experimenting with what note combinations might work - sometimes I stumble on a chord or sequence of notes which sounds so good but which I'd never have found using my knowledge of standard chord progressions. When a sound is stumbled on which matches a mood so well then things can really flow and a piece of music that is really mine is born.
