Walkin' slide

Post by 12bar »

Back on antibiotics again  after the bacteria stroke back :motz: I did a quick record of RJ's (public domain over here!) Walking Blues. The timing is bad, the tone far from perfect, but I decided to upload anyway. Strat with slide into line6 toneport.
I have to work on my timing a lot and play more accurate, that's for sure.
But at least I become more and more familiar with my slide.

12 bar ......... long time I have wondered how you play the guitar. It is rare that you upload something but now you have done it.
In my ears you do not need adjust much in your slide style.

Nice!
Sounds great. Slide is a challenge for me. I keep my SG tuned to G, but sometimes wonder if I should try standard tuning slide like Warren Haines. As a result, I don't play enough slide at all. :wall:
This Walkin' Blues sounds good. I'm not hearing timing problems really... If you listen to the old Mississippi guys, you'll hear that their timing was a bit fluid anyway.
Hope to hear more from you.

Good job 12bar, sounds great
agree with BB, timing problem
RJ mixed time signature in most of his tune, probably what BB's calling "bit fluid"

encore +1 :D

Can I add my agreement to the thoughts that there's very little wrong with your timing on this recording! So many of the good players were quite free and easy with their timing, so I think it should be allowed anyway. As usual when you upload something it's well worth hearing!

Thanks folks! As usual I only hear the wrong notes, the recorded stuff is always different to what I thought is should be.

Anyway, I'm feeling confident enough for a BB tribute collab. I'll start a new thread as soon as I have a good BT.

Sounds Great. If it was suppose to be Perfect they would have a Jazz Player playing it.
