Last week I heard a tune again on Discovery channel and once more was stunned by the chord progression, simple but very effective.
Just had to record something over that progression. Am, Am/G, Am/F# /F(single notes)
Isn't much, just a first try

Re: Fallen
I believe my old eyes must be failing. Missed seeing this post.
I'll go along 110% with your comment about the simple but very effective chord progression.
I think it fair to say, "first try" as it may be, your lead part makes it even more effective.

An improv a day keeps the demons at bay!
Re: Fallen
Falling is a good title, the descending bassline is what makes it special. Nice playing over the theme and again a killer tone. Went into your playlist and spent some time over there!

Re: Fallen
Thanks VB, don't worry, I forgotten all about this one myself. Too busy, way, way to busy. But now, finally the worst is behind us. A BIG Wide Area Network change with a lot of preperation is completed with only minor issues. Maybe I can catch-up with some sleep and rest now.VikingBlues wrote:I believe my old eyes must be failing. Missed seeing this post.

Somehow it sounds like I did something wrong when recording the lead part. It sounds on the "thin" side for my taste. But thanks for the nice comment.

Re: Fallen
Thanks Gerd, it's a nice chord sequence to experiment with some embellishments. Some work, some don't. I even may fire up the old keyboard and Roland synth. This feels like one of those backings that will last me quite a while.12bar wrote:Falling is a good title, the descending bassline is what makes it special.
