Sweet Farewell is a recent collaboration between Mark (VikingBlues) and me.
I used the Peerless Songbird except at the very end I play with the Epi ES335, the wide sound was
initially a mixer settings glitch I finally decided to keep as it is.
Mark used his Hagstrom and his wonderful acoustic.
We both had fun all along this project and after a few rough recordings to feel the mood and
the atmosphere we started the collab recording.

Wonderful playing, it fits together very well!vancouverois wrote:We both had fun all along this project and after a few rough recordings to feel the mood and

Sometimes it's hard to hear who's playing, especially because both of you play over the same theme - just great!

Re: Sweet Farewell
I very much enjoyed this collab with Chris. I'm grateful for his tolerance of my rusty and out of practice blues playing - the first outing from its case for any of my electric guitars for a couple of months. I couldn't resist bring in the Lowden acoustic for 1 verse.
I was glad to have Chris take the lead and draft out a first verse which gave a starting point for the mood and feel - I hope I didn't overdo the mournful feel - it's meant to be a sweet nostalgia.
Backing track is "Another Time, Another Place from Dave Lockwoods Moody Blues Collection on JamTracksCentral.

That was a good idea - it brings another color into the song.VikingBlues wrote:I couldn't resist bring in the Lowden acoustic for 1 verse.

Don't be so hard about your electric playing, it is very good!
I agree wit Gerd, and on the topmost it adds another atmosphere to the piece.VikingBlues wrote: I couldn't resist bring in the Lowden acoustic for 1 verse.

Thanks VC! But I know I could have done better if I practised on the electric still.
What you had in mind at the beginning was just right - it set the mood and tone beautifully.
