I can do this (play without thinking) as long as I'm in the minor Blues scale, otherwise I have to look for the right notes on the fretboard. But that's a matter of practice, I have to play around a new scale/chord to get comfortable with it.

Melodic and Jazzy - I like it!
It does sound like you're often thinking melody and playing those notes that you hear in your head.
Makes it a more satisfying experience for me as a listener than a number of "licks" strung together.
