Sad Blues Ballad

Post by vancouverois »

A sort of bluesy ballad backtrack for a change.
Some clipping I couldn't get rid off on the lead part.
Tonelab, Hi Gain pedal and Yamaha SG.

Very Cool! A few times it reminded me of Gary Moore definitely the tone but a couple of the phrase you played sounded very Gary Moore'ish. Sounded great very moody! Dan

Ah yes - moody and, true to the song title, sad. I don't think the clipping was a problem to my ears. Higher gain but you've still managed to keep it musical sounding - a nice trick that I feel I've yet to manage. I would agree with Dan that there's a hint or two of Gary Moore in there. Love the way those long vibrato / bendy notes sing out.

Thanks guys! :D
Sometimes I like to play with some gain on the lead for some floydish or ballad things
although it's not easy to have something that sounds musical. Most of the time the bass
is muddied and a lot of unwanted noises are showing up.
When I played this one I was focusing on a '80s style ballad and I'm glad you
find some Garry Moore-ish licks in there

Fairly good. What I like is the long floating notes. That sounds good. What I have to recommend you with this song is not playing so many fast notes stacked on each other. Think: less is more to this BT.

Thank you and I'm glad you like it.
You're right, less is more for this BT and I have to work on this, most of the time I realize a few days after a recording that there
are too many notes stacked or that I could have done differently.
Something to keep in mind, thanks Michael.
