Cakewalk live, most recent iteration...

Post by Blindboy »

BB on guitar and vocal. This is from a recent gig at the bar. I am using the Casino, through the '64 Fender Super Reverb. (My Tweed took a dump... needs tubes :wall: ) I have been using different amps for different venues, lately. It has been interesting... (to say the least. )

I love the sound of the old Super, I just am reluctant to get it out to the bars. For one thing, it is heavy, for another, it is kind of irreplaceable. It sure can sound sweet, though.
I know I have posted this tune before, it is just that each version is a bit different, and (hopefully) a bit better. I hope to have some good stuff to post after next Monday. My good friend Felix El Gato is gonna sit in with us. It will be his honeymoon, so he should be all fired up.

I like your finger style. I wish I had the patience and the desire to learn to play finger style that sounds so good. You have done a great job, again..........

Great job again - exactly that.

I like the story-telling sound to the vocal - there's a lot of expression in there. I can remember how uncertain you were when you first started doing vocals - nothing uncertain sounding about these.

No surprise thst the Casino, powered by those blues inspired Blindboy fingers, should sound so good through the Super. Sweet is most definitely what it sounds. The whole group in very good form here - great start to the day listening to this recording.

Thanks guys, appreciate the kind words. :shy:
VB, I am still pretty uncertain about singing, but if I want to do certain songs, I have to sing them.

*Return of the "prodigal Deacon":

Sorry, I've been neglecting some of my favorite sites lately. I've missed this site and hope I can find more time to stop in occasionally.

Glad that you folks like our musical efforts. It's always good to get some positive feedback from other musicians.

I agree with BB's assessment about being friends and would like to add that we all have actually become more like a family in some ways. It's always fun when we get together and play whether it's a practice or a gig. Our "pot luck" Sunday practice has also brought to light the cooking talents of various band members and their spouses. :D
That boy ain't right...,

but he's big on the North Sea Coast of Germany.
