Drunken, drunken Blues...

A little while back, my good friend Felix, "El Gato", came up and sat in with the Trainwreck band along with his buddy Noah.
This is an improv jam we did that night. Felix on vocals and guitar (he is playing a nylon string acoustic plugged into the board), Noah on rhythm guitar and a chorus of lead (played on an acoustic with a mic, so kind of soft....), me on the Casino through the tweed Fender 4/10. Long time 12bar listeners can probably pick me out of the mix.
If y'all need a hint, my solo starts at about 3:06. This isn't exactly original, but the vocals are a mix of several different songs and off the cuff lyrics by Felix, so I should be able to load it up here. If not, Gerd, feel free to move it.
I kind of like the interplay between me and Felix at the end of the song... Kudos to 12br members who can pick my guitar from the others. It is kind if long, but maybe worth it... Hope y'all like it. I haven't been around much lately, but that should change soon.

PS, for what it is worth, Felix and I both play with our fingers....

After being hugely disappointed by a recent commercial release of a blues artist I have likes a lot, I'm very pleased to find I can still rely on Blindboy, the TWBB, and guests to deliver good quality blues.

The combo of Casino and Tweed driven by those skilled fingers is working as well as ever here. Those tones (and those from everyone else on this recording) are just so pure beautiful blues.

There's some very skilled acoustic playing on here - and it all fits together so well - doesn't sound like guests, more like you've been playing together for years. VC said "outstanding" and he's absolutely right.

Oh - and it did not seem too long - not by any means. There's no padding, there's no self indulgence, just several minutes of pleasure for this listener.

Great advert for the benefits of plucking guitar strings with the fingers BTW!

Thanks fellers, glad you liked it. Felix is a great player and singer. We've been friends for a dozen years, but only run into each other two or three times a year. I posted a video a while back where I sat in with his band. That was the last time we had played together.
The Trainwreck band is still playing, but we aren't recording our sets much anymore. I won't have as much music to post for a while. (It was all variations on one or two songs anyway... )
I hope to get onto 12bar more now, but am about to go on a week long road trip with Miriam. :away: I may not be able to get online much for a while. We'll see...
