Jazz Swing Blues

Post by EricJames »

From the BT of the same name. Tried to focus more on phrasing/spacing on this one. Sorry these files are always so quiet; trying to figure out why

Not too quiet for us to hear the quality playing though. Hope you find a solution :fingerscrossed: - recording can be a sod to sort out.

Very good use of spaces - you resist the temptations to over play very well. Nice mix with not just single notes in the soloing. Good variations too - I'm impressed with the variety of ideas in the improv. Oh .... and like the guitar tone too!

I enjoyed the listen and look forward to hearing more.

Fair enough, man. But why not offer some feedback on what you didn't like? Sock it to me

Well, I WAS quite impressed! Your piece reminded me straightaway of what Gary Shaw did on Jimmie Witherspoon's "Blues, the Whole Blues and Nothing But the Blues" jump blues album (one of my favorites that I've probably mentioned before!) ... well worth a listen for this kind of thing. Mostly Brit backing musicians ... Dick Heckstall-Smith and Pete Thomas on saxes (latter runs an excellent Sax forum I frequent). I also look forward to hearing more from you ... good stuff!

Yep, sometimes I feel the same when I listen to playing that goes over my understanding too.
Not this time, very good playing :music2:
