VB goes a bit Up-Tempo

Post by VikingBlues »

Was playing around with the e-band function on the Boss BR-80 recorder last night. :music2:

I did reduce the level of overdrive on the preset. I'll leave you to imagine what it was like originally :yikes: ... but still didn't sound too much like me - so I hit record. Here's a (mercifully) short 2 minute snippet.

Once I'd managed to work out you needed software to extract the WAV from the e-band part of the BR-80. In the multitrack part you master a WAV file afeter recording.

Letting the P90s on my PRS SE snarl a little bit for a change.

Thank you all for listening to my little upload, and I'm very honoured by all these positive comments guys!

Though I have to admit to some confusion within myself about this recording. When I mentioned ...
VikingBlues wrote:(mercifully) short
... I really was being serious. I did enjoy playing it - but I'm a long way off enjoying listening to it afterwards.

I can sort of appreciate its bluesiness. Perhaps I need time to get used to the idea of playing in this way with that level of gain and chrunch. :icon_whoknows:

I certainly respect and value highly the views of you all ... more so than my own views when it comes to blues.

So I have no problem with accepting that I'm not hearing it right. It is good to know from your comments that I'm playing it right. Sad though - would that I could enjoy listening to it too. :wall:

Maybe playing regularly with this e-band facility will help me? :fingerscrossed:

Woke up this morning
thinking what the hell?
Woke up this morning
I've come out of my shell

I've got a hunch
that this gain and this crunch
will be here for a while
or at least until lunch

:icon_whoknows:

Thanks Tytl.

I think this might be habit forming. The e-band facility on the BR-80 is taking me places I don't normally go.
