A Different Blues in G Collab

Can you help me out guys! :fingerscrossed:

I was playing around with a BT from Bluesblast. Hi_Blues_G_88 is it's catchy name.
Now - it's about 7 1/2 minutes long - so you'll realise that when I recorded a run through I ran out of steam and ideas well before the end! :wall:

Here's the first 2 of the 10 verses with teh VSA590 and Boss GT8 - up to 01:34 :-
download/file.php?id=1828

So here's the backing track. Can anyone join in. A couple of verses each to give time to get going properly will give playing time for 4 players. I like the mood of this BT and would be keen to see what some of you might make of it. :D
download/file.php?id=1827

0:05 - 1.34 : VB
1:34 - 3:02 :
3:02 - 4:30 :
4:30 - 5:58 :
5:58 - 7:26 :

The end of the BT cuts off suddenly - I think it would be best if the person playing that pieces goes into a finish that would suit a fade out.

I will happily put it all together. Just upload the recordings of the guitar parts up to the thread like the last couple of collabs.

I can take the second slot, but I may have my part done for the middle
of next week due to Easter.

I'll take the third slot.

EDIT:

I did my part already. Hope it sounds good. I listened to the BT carefully to get the groove and attempted to apply it to my playing. I thought it was a nice challenge. Here it is:

Sounds good to me! I'm working tomorrow anyway (no Easter holidays for me  ), so I'm not going to be tapping my foot waiting!

Yep - I can hear you've applied your playing to fit in with the BT.

Thanks Guys!

Nice one Mark for arranging another collab. I've had a go for the fourth slot using my JJ neck and split HB bridge, ie P90 plus single coil.

I like it - I've downloaded it and placed it in the DAW - sounds great and it gives us three very different interpretations already. The trademark clean, but very bluesy playing I've come to expect on your recordings.

Can I just check for the positioning - I was reckoning the first note you played on your segment starts where the BT is at 4:31:5 (or thereabouts). If that isn't quite right, it still sounds very good there though!

So we're already at:-
0:05 - 1.34 : VikingBlues (done)
1:34 - 3:02 : Vancouveris
3:02 - 4:30 : StratLover2 (done)
4:30 - 5:58 : Choucas09 (done)
5:58 - 7:26 :

Anyone fancy the last section?! :icon_whoknows:

Ok, here is a last section if you would like to use it. If nobody else really had their heart set on it..

Oooh .... nice fiery playing - great fit with the BT and a good way to fade out the recording.

I look forward to slotting in the VC part later in the week.

BTW - if anyone finds a BT they'd fancy doing a collab on just let me know, and I could well be able to provide the VB "studio" time. :D

That's probably right Mark. On the clip the recording, rather than the first note, starts at 4.30 so 4.31.5 must be about it.

Thanks for the confirmation. It's amazing how a track can still sound OK if it's slightly out of place on one of these collab things, as long as it's positioned in line with the beat.

The more of your playing I hear on that JJ guitar the more I think I'd like a guitar with a P90 / HB combination!

Yeah mate that guitar is great. A P90 and a split coil humbucker gives you the three classic pu's in one guitar and five sounds ie P90, HB, SC, P90+HB and P90+SC which is what I used here. The icing on the cake is that I replaced the original Korean made pickups with hand-wound Bareknuckles ones.

Well, I could manage doing my part a bit earlier
P90 all the way  , I played it with the Peerless.
I tried to impersonate two guitars talking together... not sure if I did :away:

So here is the part starting from the beginning:

Damn fine playing VC!

Here's the final version everyone & hope the mixing is OK for you all .... think you'll agree it shows 5 very different ways of approaching the same piece. I really enjoyed being in on this - gives me a chance to fly with some great guitar players apart from anything else.
